NEW APPOINTMENT SYSTEM DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC:
A new appointment system will be in place during the covid-19 pandemic.
Patients with an urgent medical problem should ring the practice after 9am & preferably before 10.30am. All appointments will be telephone consultations in the first instance with both doctors and nursing staff. During your telephone consultation, the doctor or nurse will decide if they need to see you face to face for further management of your complaint. The doctor/nurse will be give you a time to attend the practice for your face to face appointment. When you arrive at the practice, please wait in your car until the doctor/nurse rings you to advise what to do next. When attending your appointment, please ensure you wear and face mask.
The appointment system (PRE-COVD)
Appointments to see the doctor can be made via telephone or calling in person to the surgery.
The appointment system exists both for your convenience and to aid the doctor and the nurse. We will endeavour to oblige patients who require an urgent appointment if they contact the surgery as early as possible in the day. Please note that between 8am - 9am, 1pm - 2pm & 5.30pm - 6pm the practice will accept emercgency calls only.
The practice aims to be able to offer our patients a consultation with a GP of their choice. However, all patients are registered with the Practice and not with a specific GP. When requesting an appointment with the doctor you will be offered the first available appointment with any doctor. If you request to consult with a particular GP you will have to wait until that doctor has an appointment slot available.
Please do not blame the receptionist if the doctor is running late for your appointment, or if she is unable to offer you exactly what you want. Remember that she is trying to do a difficult and demanding job and is often working under pressure. We would therefore ask you to be a PATIENT PATIENT.
For non urgent appointments please try to give as much notice as possible.
Appointment Cancellation Policy:
The practice is committed to ensuring that all patients have the opportunity of making an appointment with their GP. However patients who fail to turn up for their appointment greatly limit the availability of appointments for other patients. Patients who continually miss their appointments will be brought to the attention of the GP's & Practice Manager.
A letter will be sent to that patient to inform them of the implications of missed appointments on other patients and the running of the practice as a whole. Continued failure to turn up for booked appointments could eventually lead to removal from our practice list.
We ask that all patients of this practice be considerate of other patients whose need may be urgent. If you cannot attend for your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that the cancellation may be offered to another patient.
Appointments can be cancelled via telephone or online. Patients wishing to cancel by telephone should contact the practice at least 24hrs before the scheduled appointment time. All calls can be made during normal opening hours.
Patients who wish to cancel online can do so via the practice website. Patients can access the appointment cancellation service by visiting the home page and clicking on the heading 'Cancel Appointment'. A period of 24hrs notice is also required.
